There are over 20 classes competing in this historic race which makes the start line a complicated place to be. In order to make sure each class gets away safely and the starts are staggered from 0500! The Extreme 40’s are amongst the first starters and they will be expected to return within 4 – 5 hours! -

The annual J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, organised by the Island Sailing Club, is one of the most popular fixtures on the Solent racing calendar. The race regularly attracts over 1,700 boats and around 16,000 sailors, making it the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs.
